The local cross-country race ‘El Reto De Las Aguas Eternas’ or ‘the Eternal Waters Challenge’, will take place on August 27, 2017 in San Gerardo de Rivas. This run, held annually since 2011 celebrates the creation of Chirripó National Park on August 19, 1975. Competitive runners from all over Costa Rica and foreign countries participate.

This 13km run starts at 8:00am in the center of San Gerardo de Rivas and goes up to Cloudbridge Reserve, then follows 3.7km of the trail that leads to Chirripó National Park, and finally descends to the community of Los Angeles. The finish line will be once again at the soccer field in San Gerardo.

Come and visit us and be part of this great event in August to celebrate the birthday of Chirripó National Park and get to know our community. In addition to the run, there will be local food and community activities waiting for you.
