Cocolisos Truchero

A San Gerardo claim to fame! Its own family fishing attraction. Kids will love to try their hand at catching one of the river fresh trout at the truchero operated by the family Garita Marin. The trout-filled pools are surrounded by brilliant tropical plants and the family has a prized orchid collection to view and short trails around their beautiful garden.

Located: on the road to Barrio Chispa. From the plaza in San Gerardo walk about 200m up the road. Just before the bridge the road forks. At the fork turn left and walk about 100m. Los Cocolisos is on your right.

Hours: Open Saturday and Sunday 9a.m. – 6p.m. For visits during weekdays please call ahead.

Features: fishing in mountain stream fed trout pools. You pay only for what you catch! Staff will prepare your fish ready to take home to cook, or you can enjoy it right there in the bright open air restaurant with home-cooked accompaniments. Served with rice, fries, salad and fresh fruit juice.
