In and around San Gerardo de Rivas there are lots of food options with varying menus and prices. You can definitely find the ubiquitous hamburgers, fries and nachos but worth trying as well –  local fresh trout, traditional Costa Rican rice dishes picadillos and fresh tortillas with cheese, and even gourmet platters that fuse local produce with more intricate culinary styles.

What you can be sure of is that the vegetables are all grown locally and often organically, eggs came from the hen just a few hours ago and cheese is made from locally produced milk. We live in abundance in Costa Rica – try the flavors and discover some new recipes to take home.

All the hotels listed have their own restaurants – check out their pages to learn about their styles, hours and specialties. There are also a few restaurant-only establishments listed alone or also on this page.
