Trail-Friendly Ultralight Pick
ATEPA Backpacking Chair Ultra Lightweight, 330 lbs Heavy-Duty Aerospace Aluminum Folding Camp Chair with Hexagon Ergonomic Seat Anti-Sink Feet, Compact Portable Outdoor Gear for Hiking, Forestcamp
At 4.52 pounds, the ATEPA UFO3.0 is the clearest fit here for carrying beyond the car. It packs down to the size of a water bottle and uses an aerospace-grade aluminum frame, with a high backrest and breathable 3D air-mesh side panels.
Oversized anti-sink feet are intended to spread weight on soft ground, while the chair supports up to 330 lbs. A cup holder, side storage pockets, and a carabiner add convenience at camp. Its compact build suits hikers, though the record gives no packed dimensions or setup details, so check those before planning a tight pack.
Best For: Hikers who want a compact chair with a backrest and storage features.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Choose the ATEPA when the chair has to travel with you on a hike and compact packing matters. The stated weight and water-bottle-sized packed form are more trail-oriented than the low beach chairs and two-chair sets here.
Its 330 lb support rating and anti-sink feet may also suit campsites with soft ground. Before buying, check exact packed dimensions and how the frame assembles, since neither detail is provided.
Wide, Low Lounge Seat
KingCamp Low Beach Chair, Folding Portable Chairs for Adults Lightweight Extra Wide Ergonomic Seat 300lbs Heavy Duty Oversized Backpack Gear with Mesh Back Carry Bag for Outdoor Lawn Camping Picnic
This KingCamp chair combines a low seating position with a wide mesh seat, making it a fit for campers who prefer lounging close to the ground. The seat is 23.5 inches wide and 8.6 inches high, while the ergonomic sling design lets you lean back and stretch your legs.
A pillow sleeve can hold clothing or accessories as a headrest, and the backrest and armrests have double-layer padding. It weighs 6.6 lbs and folds into an included carry bag.
The low profile is useful for relaxed settings, but may be less convenient if you prefer a higher seat for standing up.
Best For: Campers who value a broad, low seat for relaxed lounging near the ground.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Pick this KingCamp for a roomy seat and a low, reclined feel at a campsite, backyard, or beach. The mesh seat, pillow sleeve, and padded contact points make it more lounge-focused than the ATEPA backpacking chair.
Its 6.6-pound weight is provided, but the record does not give a packed size; check the folded shape if you need to stow it in a hiking pack. Consider the low seat height if getting up from a low position is a concern.
Two-Chair Beach and Camp Set
KingCamp Low Beach Chairs 2 Pack, Folding Portable Chair for Adults lightweight Extra Wide Ergonomic High Back Seat 300lbs Heavy Duty Oversized Gear with Carry Bag for Outdoor Lawn Camping Picnic
This KingCamp offer is a two-chair set, useful when you need matching seats for a pair rather than a single chair. Each chair has a high back, an integrated pillow sleeve, and an extra-wide seat described as 10% wider than a standard reference in the product notes.
The cross-triangle steel frame supports up to 300 lbs per chair, and oversized feet are meant to help on sand, dirt, or lawn. Breathable mesh panels, padded armrests, a cup holder, and a multi-compartment side pocket support longer outdoor stops.
At 7 lbs per chair, it is more suited to car-access camps than long-distance carry.
Best For: Campers who need two low, roomy chairs for shared outdoor trips.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Choose this offer when you want two chairs with low-chair lounging features and shared storage conveniences. Each seat has a 300 lb support rating, and the 30-inch carry bag gives a stated folded length.
The 7-pound weight per chair and two-piece set make this a practical car-camping option rather than the most packable choice for a hike. Check the exact seat dimensions if width or sitting height is central to your comfort.
Single High-Back Camp Chair
SONGMICS Portable Beach Chair for Adults, Max. Load 330 lb, High Backrest, Cup Holder, Lightweight, Heavy-Duty, Green UGCB061C01
The single-chair SONGMICS option offers a straightforward high-back seat for camping, fishing, picnics, and poolside use. It has tear-resistant 600D Oxford fabric, a powder-coated steel frame, and extra-large bottom footpads, with a maximum load of 330 lb.
Padded armrest covers add a comfort detail, while a cup holder sits beside the armrest. The chair folds to 34.3 by 6.3 inches and arrives with a carry bag, making its packed footprint clear for transport by car.
No chair weight is provided, so hikers comparing carry loads should verify that detail before choosing it.
Best For: Car campers who want one higher-backed chair with padded armrests and a cup holder.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Choose the SONGMICS single chair when you want one high-backed seat and value a clearly stated folded size. Its padded armrests, cup holder, 330 lb maximum load, and steel frame make it suited to car-access outings.
The product notes cover the fold dimensions but not the chair's weight, so it is harder to compare for carrying on foot. Confirm weight and the seat dimensions if portability or fit is a priority.
Padded-Armrest Pair
SONGMICS Set of 2 Portable Beach Chairs for Adults, Max. Load 330 lb Each, High Backrest, Cup Holder, Lightweight, Heavy-Duty, Blue UGCB067Q02V1
This SONGMICS set supplies two high-back chairs for camping, fishing, picnics, or poolside use. Each chair has a maximum load of 330 lb, padded armrest covers, and a cup holder.
The powder-coated steel frame has extra-large bottom footpads, while the 600D Oxford fabric is described as tear-resistant. Each chair folds to 34.3 by 6.3 inches and fits into an included carry bag.
That gives a useful size reference for car packing, although the chair weight is not specified. The pair format is convenient for shared trips, but less suited to a solo buyer who only needs one seat.
Best For: Pairs who want two high-back chairs with shoulder-carry bags and padded armrests.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
This SONGMICS pair fits campers who want two matching high-back seats and appreciate padded armrests and included cup holders. Its 330 lb per-chair rating and folded dimensions help with capacity and trunk planning.
For backpacking, the unspecified weight per chair is a key detail to check before buying. For a solo trip, consider whether a two-chair set makes sense alongside a single-chair alternative.
Compact Two-Chair Beach Set
SONGMICS Portable Beach Chairs Set of 2 UGCB067B01
The SONGMICS UGCB067B01 is a two-chair set with high backrests, cup holders, and a 330 lb maximum load per chair. Its catalog title identifies 600D Oxford fabric, while the available notes add little detail beyond that fabric reference.
The pair format suits shared camping or picnic use, but the records do not provide chair weight, folded dimensions, or specific frame details for this offer. Those omissions matter when comparing lightweight chairs: a set can be convenient for the campsite, yet harder to assess for carrying or packing.
Verify each chair’s weight and folded size before choosing it for trips where space is limited.
Best For: Campers who want a pair of high-back folding chairs and a 330 lb per-chair load rating.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Consider this SONGMICS set if you need two chairs and the per-chair load rating is useful for narrowing options. The evidence available for this offer is thin compared with the other SONGMICS pair, which has folded dimensions, padding, and frame details.
Before buying, verify the exact weight and packed size for your transport needs, along with whether a carry bag is included. Its set format is most practical for shared car-access outings.
Fishing Chair With Cooler Storage
FUNDANGO Portable Fishing Chair, Lightweight Backrest Stool Compact Folding Chair with Cooler Bag for Outdoors Hiking Hunting Travel, Supports 265 Lbs
The FUNDANGO is a backrest stool aimed at fishing, hunting, hiking, and travel, with a zippered cooler bag built into the chair. Its carry handle supports moving it between a campsite and a nearby fishing spot, and double-layer Oxford fabric pairs with a powder-coated steel frame.
The stated load support is 265 lbs. The cooler is described as keeping food and drinks cool for 5–6 hours, a useful feature for outings where refreshments should stay close at hand. The record gives no chair weight or packed dimensions, so confirm those details before making it a hiking choice.
Best For: Anglers and campers who want a compact seat with a built-in cooler bag.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Choose the FUNDANGO if keeping drinks or snacks near the seat is more useful than having a full-size camp chair. The cooler bag, carry handle, backrest, and 265 lb support figure make it a specialized option for fishing or short walks from a vehicle.
It is less straightforward to assess for hiking because no weight or packed dimensions are given. Check those measurements and confirm the cooler storage layout suits what you plan to carry.
How to Choose Lightweight Camping Chairs
How We Picked Lightweight Camping Chairs
We prioritized chairs that can plausibly travel to an outdoor sitting spot and compared the evidence available for weight, folded size, carry features, seat design, and load rating. The ATEPA is the most directly trail-oriented because it has a 4.52-pound weight and packs to water-bottle size.
The KingCamp low chair offers a specified wide seat and low seating height, while its two-chair version serves buyers who need a pair. The SONGMICS options focus on high-back seating and shared sets, and FUNDANGO adds cooler storage for fishing or short outings.
Weight alone does not settle the choice. A chair that travels from a parking area to a campsite can have different priorities from a chair carried in a backpack for hours.
We also considered whether a product is a single chair or a set, because the total carry and storage needs change when a pair is included.
Comparing Lightweight Camping Chairs
The ATEPA has the strongest portability details in this group: 4.52 lbs and a water-bottle-sized packed form. The single SONGMICS chair and one SONGMICS pair give folded dimensions of 34.3 by 6.3 inches, but their chair weight is not provided.
The KingCamp single weighs 6.6 lbs, and the separate KingCamp set weighs 7 lbs per chair with a 30-inch carry bag. These figures describe different products and packing details, so check what fits your own pack or vehicle.
Seat style changes the experience. The low KingCamp chair places its seat 8.6 inches from the ground and offers a 23.5-inch mesh seat, while the SONGMICS chairs use high backrests and padded armrest covers.
The ATEPA has a high backrest with mesh side panels, and the FUNDANGO is a backrest stool with a cooler bag. Load ratings vary too, from 265 lbs on FUNDANGO to 330 lbs per chair on several other options; match the stated capacity to the intended user.

Choosing a Chair for Backpacking or Car Camping
For backpacking, focus on packed dimensions, total carry weight, and how the chair fits with the rest of your gear. The ATEPA is the only option here with both a low stated weight and a very compact packed description, although exact packed measurements are not given.
Several other candidates leave weight unspecified, so ask for or confirm that figure before treating them as trail-ready.
Car camping gives more room to choose a broader seat, extra padding, or a two-chair bundle. The KingCamp low chair’s wide mesh seat and pillow sleeve favor relaxed sitting, while SONGMICS pairs provide two high-back seats for people traveling together.
Check folded lengths against your trunk space, especially for the 30-inch KingCamp carry bag or 34.3-inch SONGMICS fold.
Seat Height, Ground Conditions, and Useful Extras
A low seat can feel relaxed for lounging but may be less convenient to rise from; the KingCamp single’s seat height is 8.6 inches. If you prefer a more conventional high-back seat, compare the SONGMICS options, which emphasize padded armrests and cup holders.
Exact seat heights for those chairs are not included, so confirm the dimensions if posture or ease of getting up affects your choice.
For soft sand, dirt, or grass, several chairs have oversized or extra-large footpads intended to distribute support. KingCamp notes anti-sink feet, ATEPA has oversized anti-sink feet, and SONGMICS identifies extra-large bottom footpads.
Storage also varies: ATEPA includes pockets and a carabiner, KingCamp offers side pockets and a cup holder, and FUNDANGO’s cooler bag is its distinguishing extra.
Who Should Buy Which Lightweight Camping Chair?
Choose the ATEPA if you carry a chair on hikes and want the lightest documented option with compact packing. Choose the low KingCamp single for a wide lounging seat, or its two-chair set when you need a pair and can carry the extra weight.
The SONGMICS single makes sense for one high-back seat with defined fold dimensions; its pair is for shared trips.
Pick the SONGMICS UGCB067B01 pair only after confirming packed size and weight, since those details are absent here. The FUNDANGO suits fishing or vehicle-access outings where cooler storage matters more than backpack portability.
In every case, check seat dimensions, actual packed fit, and the stated load limit against your route and users before ordering.
